EEEKKKKK!!!!!! (squealing with excitement) I woke up, meditated, and watched clips of my HERO #1 KIMORA LEE SIMMONS. she was in the middle of her fashion show launch and came across a Red Cross truck and gave blood, enough to save 3 lives. It didn't matter if she was all glammed up and if she had an event she was attending she made time to give. I know how rewarding the toys felt yesterday... so I am definitely inspired to give blood.
I always wanted to, but for some reason was not able to.. (i.e. i just finished antibiotics or some other restricted reason.) Especially knowing I am O negative blood type (UNIVERSAL BLOOD TYPE) this was on my top priority this week.
I made an appointment; the next day I came in. The process was simple, before I know it I was in the chair getting cleaned up for the process. Once all the needles were in, the nurses gave me the scoop on the Maury Show (also known as "Not The Father" show...LMBO!) they watched earlier. Before I knew it, within a ten minute gossip fest on who was/wasn't the father of illegitimate babies; I donated enough blood to save up to three lives. I felt exhilarated and definitely motivated to donate a lot more.
The Associated Press Reported how rapper Nas has failed to support his ex-wife singer Kelis and Child. I can not believe that this much time has passed and he has not at least made a payment plan... Wow and now they believe Nas may be trying to skip in court. Judge David S. Cunningham III, who is overseeing the divorce proceedings, said Friday it's starting to look like the rapper is trying to evade court orders.Nas was ordered to pay more than $51,000 per month to his former wife and infant son in December.Nas pleaded not guilty through his attorney and was ordered back for a March hearing in Los Angeles. Kelis' attorney stated Nas is $200,000 behind on child and spousal support. Anthony Ukran, one of Nas' attorneys, told Cunningham the rapper needs more time to prepare his defense and show he's unable to pay the court-ordered support amounts. Mind you Kelis filed for divorce in May.
Now simply because you cast an occasional type for a fashion show, doesn't necessarily mean that you are actually being diverse. In an industry where color is vague and the most modest of topics in fashion, 2010 is breaking through in a entirely different approach. According to Sophie Theallet's casting agency; there are many colors and they are not afraid to use them. Tracy Lomrantz continues:
There's no denying that we've still got serious strides to make when it comes to the women who represent us on the runway during fashion week, but as Crystal Renn reminded us yesterday, sometimes the way to get there is by taking baby steps. And Sophie Theallet's casting was definitely one in the right direction.
When we spoke with Sophie a couple of weeks ago about her upcoming collection, she made a point to tell us that her customers are "normal women who are lawyers and doctors and those are the people who are really inspiring." She's definitely designing for a regular customer like you and me, and that was well represented in her incredibly diverse casting. Check out the lineup from Tuesday's show--a veritable rainbow, huh?

It was rather refreshing to see, especially on the heels of Daniel Vosovic's news that he had a really hard time finding 15 Asian models to fill his presentation slots. When designers have addressed the diversity (or lack thereof) issue in the past, they've often resorted to headline-grabbing stunt casting or, in at least one instance, filling an entire runway with black models--the true polar opposite of "diversity"--but this felt absolutely authentic to me.
Do you ladies think a casting like Sophie's might encourage other designers to follow in her footsteps? Do you agree with Crystal, that we need to take small steps as women in order to eventually take giant leaps as womankind? Do you feel like you and your ethnicity deserve more representation on the runway? Discuss!
It's no wonder Susan Foslien of the Susan of Burlingame boutiques in Northern California, and a bevy of Vogue editors, were singing Tfank's praises. In a season when so many designers are trying to be timeless, she is way ahead of the game.

When I think of figure skating fashion, I always think of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett as the diabolical figure skating team in "Blades of Glory," paying homage to urban culture with Timberland boot-covered skates, gold teeth and Louis Vuitton-printed booty shorts.
And just when I was thinking how such over-the-top costuming could never happen in real life, out skated German pairs team Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy in matching harlequin clown costumes on Sunday -- their eyebrows made up into triangles, black makeup tears rolling down their cheeks and (for Szolkowy) a mime's white frilly collar curling up around his neck, topping off a black sequined body suit with faux oversized buttons. By the end of the performance (to "Send in the Clowns," naturally), Savchenko's glossy red lip color had rubbed off onto her delicate nose. Eesh.
But they weren't the only pair to bring high-theater aesthetics to the ice. Ukraine's Tatiana Volosozhar and Stanislav Morozov performed in metallic electric-blue body suits trimmed in silver racing stripes, affecting reflective twirling aliens, while Russian pairs team Maria Mukhortova and Maxim Trankov glided (and sadly fumbled) on the ice in matching brown Native American-inspired get-ups dripping in fringe that looked like they might have been nabbed at a country Halloween shop.
Last night -- during the long program -- nothing quite as zany glided into the rink, but there was some major glitter, namely from Savchenko (the former harlequin), whose dress boasted a silly dickie-ish white top with rhinestone-peppered sleeves, and Yuko Kavaguti, who wore a glittery gold-and-red heart graphic on her tiny top half.
Superstar Chinese team Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo showed comparative restraint. On Sunday, he wore black pants and an (only slightly) spangly gray and pink button-down shirt, while she looked like a classic Olympian in a sequined purple skating dress with a pop of hot pink peeking out from the slip underneath. And last night, the real-life couple went for stately red and black -- with Shen Xue in a simple, glittery red frock, and Hongbo in black pants and a red-and-black button-down shirt.
The pair ultimately nabbed the gold, proving that the greatest theater in figure skating is always performance-based.
That was until reigning reality TV queen Kim Kardashian herself stepped in front of a phalanx of runway photographers, clad in a hooded, heather gray stretch jersey dress and black leatherette corset that cinched her figure into nearly Jessica Rabbit-like relief.
The actual show didn't start for another 10 minutes, but Kardashian had arrived in what the crowd would shortly find out was look number two No. 2 from the new collection -- which was designed by the Bebe brand's in-house team with input from sisters and reality show costars Kim, Khloe and Kourtney -- and the message was unmistakable: "Yeah, we'd wear this stuff."
Judging by the constellation of flashbulbs that ensued when Kim Kardashian was en route to her front row seat, Kim Kardashian's the photo-op was most welcome, but it turned out to be wholly unnecessary to get the point across. Anyone with even a passing familiarity with the Kardashian troika -- from their E! series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," courtside appearances at Lakers games (Khloe recently wed Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom) or the pages of such celebrity-centric glossies like as "People" or "US Weekly" — could have seen their personal style reflected in the 25 looks that came down the catwalk.
There was plenty of form-fitting stretch jersey, a bumper crop of one-shouldered dresses and lots of leg, laid bare in rompers and short dresses or sheathed in skinny jeans. Sexy? Yes, but certainly not in a "You're not leaving the house like that, young lady!" sort of way. Sorry, Kardashian bashers, these clothes were kind of cute.
"Yes, the one-shouldered dress, that's very me," Kim Kardashian said backstage after the show. "The baggier blazers and rompers are very Kourtney, because she's more bohemian, and this," she said pointing to the dress she was wearing, "is one Khloe helped design. She really wanted a hoodie and she wanted something that was wearable and stretchy."
Kardashian said there was no specific inspiration for the inaugural collection beyond the sisters themselves.
"No, there's no particular theme," she said. "We wanted our first season to just represent us, and what we like to wear. Me and Kourtney and Khloe all have different styles, but there are lots of one-piece dresses -- it's easiest when you're putting an outfit together --and we wanted fabrics that were stretchy because we all have different body types and wanted something that would fit all of us."
At the launch of most celebrity-affiliated clothing lines, the star spends the duration of the runway show backstage, giving the impression of being hard at work, tending to every last detail up until the final bow, so it was also worth noting that Kardashian chose to take it all in from a front row seat instead of watching from the wings.
When asked why she chose to sit in the front of the house, her first response was that she had wanted to see how the models were walking and how the clothes moved on them. When pressed further, she admitted there was more meaning to be gleaned from it.
"You didn't want to pretend you were backstage doing all of this yourself?" she was asked.
"Exactly," she replied with a smile, in what may turn out to be the most refreshingly real and candid moment in the latest surreal chapter of the reality TV star's life.

Beige and gray nails have been trendy since OPI released “You don’t know Jacques” and now with the parade of cloudy nails that went down the Marc Jacobs runways, this storm doesn’t show signs of stopping.
Artists from CND created custom blends in order to achieve each shade of gray, greige and lavender. Below is what they concocted from the CND line of nail polish to get tones that complemented Jacob’s collection. It looks like a lot of chemistry and color balancing, so those who love to be on trend might find themselves mixing batches of nail lacquer to make their own custom color.
See the looks below the jump.
